In a recent survey of teachers, librarians, and school staff, respondents repeatedly named “connection to children’s books and reading” as the most important feature of a kindness program. The What If We Were® Kind Box was designed directly in response to that feedback: a literacy-first SEL tool that begins with a read-aloud, then provides coins, a kindness mascot (Tally), a reusable tracker, and kindness prompts teachers can use immediately.
